Dr Olalekan Abudu

Dr Olalekan Abudu is an accomplished radiologist with extensive experience across public and private healthcare systems in the UK and Nigeria. He is currently the Site Clinical and Education Lead and a Consultant Uro-radiologist at NHS Ayrshire & Arran.


He completed diagnostic radiology specialty training in Nigeria where he earned the Fellowship of the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS) in Clinical Radiology in 2017. He thereafter moved to the UK to assume an NHS consultant role and earned another Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) in Clinical Radiology.


Earlier in his career, Dr Abudu held senior management and radiology consultant roles in Nigeria where he oversaw the growth and transformation of the imaging division of a medium-sized private healthcare company.


Dr. Abudu has a strong background in general radiology, non-vascular interventional radiology and the uro-radiology subspecialty. He has published and collaborated on research into the nutcracker phenomenon, varicocele and male infertility.

His career blends clinical excellence, clinical governance, teaching and research.
Dr Abudu is passionate about harnessing imaging modalities to elevate healthcare quality and mentoring the next generation of radiologists.
