Dr Hammed Ninalowo, is a US trained Vascular and Interventional Radiologist who completed his training at the prestigious University of Pennsylvania and is the first US trained Physician to offer the full spectrum of interventional Radiology services in Nigeria. He obtained his medical degree at the University of Illinois and graduated at the top of his class with honours(Alpha Omega Alpha).
His published works are widely read and has done a lot of pioneering work in providing minimally invasive therapies in the West African Population, performing he first transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) in sub-Saharan Africa and also routine interventional radiological procedures like tumour ablation and embolization with remarkable clinical outcomes.
His passion for making advanced medical treatments more accessible, has led him to found IRDOC NIGERIA, a company that provides interventional radiology services across West Africa and is facilitating the training of 100 interventional radiologists in Nigeria over the next decade. He also is a co-founder and director of Accuread, a quality sub-specialist diagnostic radiology reporting in Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa.
