
Godwin Ogbole is a professor of Radiology at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. A senior visiting fellow at the Wellcome Center for Integrative Neuroimaging (WIN) of the University of Oxford, a member of the neuroimaging task force of the International League Against Epilepsy(ILAE), The president of the Neuroradiological Society of Nigeria(NRSN) and past secretary to the faculty of Radiology of the West African College of Surgeons(WACS).
His research focuses on developing adaptable, patient-centred imaging systems in resource-poor settings of Africa aimed at optimising care and imaging intervention. He is the lead Radiologist of the Stroke Investigative Research and Educational Network (SIREN); the largest stroke study in Africa.
His core expertise is in neuroimaging with low-field MRI. He holds master’s degrees in epidemiology, clinical investigation and radiation physics. His clinical interests include stroke, epilepsy, dementia and computational neuroimaging analysis with machine learning for enhanced clinical decisions in brain health. He has co-authored 4 imaging-related books and published over 150 scientific papers. His most recent grant from the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI) is to strengthen MRI education and research in Africa.
