Prof Atinuke AGUNLOYE

Atinuke AGUNLOYE (Tinu) is a Professor of Radiology at University of Ibadan, the first medical school and university in Nigeria. A university lecturer for 25 years, involved in the training of undergraduate medical students and resident doctors undergoing their Radiology fellowship training at the University College Hospital Ibadan where she is a Consultant Radiologist.

With special interest in Postgraduate Radiology education, she was Faculty Secretary (2013-2017) and is currently Chair, Faculty of Radiology of the West African College of Surgeons (WACS) since 2023, leading the faculty in accrediting institutions for training of Radiologists, developing and updating training curricula as well as conducting fellowship examinations for trainees. She has been an examiner in the Faculty of Radiology of the WACS and the Nigerian Postgraduate Medical College for 20 years. An external examiner to the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons and external assessor for many universities.

She was at The Gambia between 2021-2024 at Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital to provide guidance in setting up the first Radiology Residency training program in The Gambia. This program was accredited for training by WACS in 2024 and currently has many residents in training.

A strong believer in the potential of Africans to solve their problems and improve healthcare indices using homegrown solutions. Married for 30 years and Blessed with 3 children. Hobbies include Listening to Music, Dancing, Watching Films, Travelling.
